I didn't make any serious resolutions last New Year's Eve. Just the standard... "I promise not to turn down any pay increases or free chocolate" kind of thing.
It's almost May, and I've decided to try something different.
Second-Quarter Resolutions with a reasonable time frame.
For example...
By this time next year (May 1st), I want to have accomplished the following:
1. Quit smoking 2. Increase budgeted savings by 15% 3. Stop eating anything with more preservatives in it than the stuff that they used to embalm Uncle Louie 4. Take more pictures of what's around me 5. Be engaged... or very, very close. (I KNOW what I said, but I changed my mind. Never say never. And no, I haven't found the victim yet.)
I quit smoking a while ago, but I really wanna smoke now. It sucks. But def quit if you can. I think that quitting for any amount of time is good, even if you have to try like 5000 times, like me. Good Luck!!!

Ohhhh... you KNOW, Whit!
I like being alone.. I really do. I'm ready to be miserable again, though.

1. Quit smoking- I may, again if the mood strikes me...they have not raised the price of my smokes in 5 years so I cannot get pissed about the cost rising...woof! plus they have never hampered my breathing yet, go figure.
2. Increase budgeted savings by 15%---LMFAO on that one...maybe I will save when I stop paying for my lawsuit...but where do you spend your ducats after this world ends?
3. Stop eating anything with more preservatives in it than the stuff that they used to embalm Uncle Louie--did that long ago...it is easier to eat healthier if you avoid that crap, but some preservatives are actually good for ya...like BHA and BHT, etc.
4. Take more pictures of what's around me-- I keep em in my head as always 5. Be engaged... or very, very close....HMMMM it could happen if she was real enough...brave enough?

OK, you quit smoking right now, this very minute.
I did it on March 19, and misery loves company. So you just durn well can join me right now.
I'm not using anything for it, no patches, gum or lozenges. No Chantix or anything like that. What I did do was designate smoke free places until the only place I could smoke was outside and 50 feet away from the house on Tuesday and Thursday only.
By the time I got those details ironed out I figured I might as well stop smoking...it was too much trouble to remember which spot was which day. Besides, if I was still smoking next winter, I'd have a LOT of shoveling to do.

1. Quit smoking, I have to start before I quit. no I am not going to start, I hope you the best of luck in quiting. 2. Save 15% more, have you seen the fuel prices. budget is shot.... 3. Eating better, I am with you on that one. 4. I don't like pictures, I have one taken tomorrow that's one more than I had last year! 5. I have a shotgun if you want to make someone have a shotgun wedding, still haven't figured out why anybody would want to marry a shotgun
Where do I want to be in a year? That is a good question one I have been thinking about, as for the bus I hope I ain't setting in a junk yard getting rusty!

Kristin:
I quit smoking almost ten years ago. and I've been sober now for over two. the only thing I could do now is quit breathing. and somehow I don't think that breaking that habit would be as healthy as the other two. I don't know What do ya think?

Kristin - I loved that song and the peaceful with which it is sung makes one want to try the next adventure in life. Mine will probably knowing more direction with the selling of my photography and writings - June
Why marry a fire cracker? It's just a fizz with a bang, then your left with nothing but ringing ears and if its a big one maybe a burnt spot on the ground, never do a cherry bomb down the toilet, its hard on one's plumbing... If you married a shot gun at least you can reload him

Kristin,
I kinda keep my resolutions basic, so a year from now I'll settle for still being among the living. Even Microsoft hasn't mastered the technology for leaving comments on blogs from the Great Beyond.

That's a good one, Mr.O. I like you alive.
I heard that Microsoft actually DID work most of the bugs out of that one... but they're having a hard time figuring out where to stamp the little "C" with the circle around it.

Misery does love company, but I can guarantee... I am miserable company when I quit. I'll do it, though. Soon.
